Ride the wave of deliciousness with these Crab Mac and Cheese Bites! The creamy comfort of mac and cheese gets a seafood twist. Treat yourself and indulge in these baby bites of cheesy crabby perfection!
Ingredients
The Mac and Cheese
20g Plain flour
1 tsp English Mustard
Pinch of Cayenne pepper
100g Yeo Valley Organic Mature Cheddar (grated)
100g Macaroni
The Crab Topping
100g Crab White and Brown
50g Yeo Valley Crème Fraiche
½ Lemon (juice)
1 tbsp Chives (chopped)
Salt and pepper
50g Breadcrumbs (toasted)
Method
Grease a mini muffin tin and heat the oven to 180C.
Make cheese sauce by melting the butter and the flour in a saucepan. Gradually add the milk, whisking in between additions until the sauce is smooth. Add the mustard and cayenne pepper and stir through the grated cheese until it has melted.
Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions and stir it through the cheese sauce.
Add the mac and cheese to the muffin tin and bake in the oven for 20-25 mins, until the edges are crispy.
In a small mixing bowl, combine crab with the crème fraiche and lemon juice and season it with salt and pepper.
Once the mac and cheese is cooked remove the mini bites from the muffin tin, top with crab mix, toasted breadcrumbs and chopped chives.
