Ready for one experience guaranteed to cause a buzz?

What to expect

Jean will introduce you to some of the garden's fabulous bumblebees and solitary bees. Her bee safari will help you understand how to garden to support all of our bees and other essential pollinators. This bee safari will introduce you to the huge diversity of garden bees, show you the sorts of flowers that really make a difference, and reveal some fascinating things you may not know about our amazing garden bees!

Jean Vernon (aka Jeanie Bee) is an award-winning writer and author of The Secret Lives of Garden Bees. She is on a mission to unravel, demystify and explain the intricate balance of nature. Jean wants to introduce everyone to the familiar and unfamiliar bees and other important pollinators that live in our gardens.

Parking

There’s plenty of free parking available at the Yeo Valley Organic Garden and our HQ. We encourage reverse parking and have disabled access spaces. So you can just turn up and park up! Easy.

Events - Bee Safari

I went on a Bee Safari with author Jean Vernon in the Yeo Valley Organic Garden to learn more about bumblebees and solitary bees. The session was excellent, combining an entertaining talk with images in an airy yurt followed by a walk into the adjacent gardens to take a closer look at the bees.

I visited Yeo Valley Gardens today with my mum and sister in law for one of the events, which was a Bee Safari. We had a great morning and were greeted with tea, coffee and cake while watching a presentation about bees. We then went on a walk around the gardens and met the delightful farm dogs. The gardens are beautiful and we learned from the Bee Safari there are hundreds of types of bee. We then had a closer look at a few of the bees we found.

We had a wonderful time today on the Farm to Fridge tour/experience. Roy & Helen were exemplary ambassadors and added to our experience throughout. Thoroughly recommend this as a very worthwhile day out although you may not get as lucky with the weather as we did - a quintessential English summers day!

My son had booked us onto the Best of Both day that included coffee/tea on arrival and then a cookery demonstration, which was followed by lunch, that included some of the items we saw being prepared. After lunch we had a guided tour of the garden, followed by afternoon tea/coffee and cake. The whole days was very enjoyable.

I spent the day at the Yeo Valley Organic Gardens last week at Drawn in the Garden with the very talented and lovely Natasha Clutterbuck. Wet weather drove us into the greenhouses for the day, but this did not detract from a few hours of drawing and painting, surrounded by an array of beautiful plants, flowers and vegetables. All in all the perfect way to spend a day sheltering from the unseasonal torrential downpours.
